Preparing for Birth

Step by Step Process
Step one: Find an LMC
To give birth at our facility you will need a confirmed booking with a midwife (LMC) who holds an Access Agreement. Your midwife will manage your care throughout labour and birth, supported by our experienced staff. With your consent, a student midwife may assist under supervision.
Step two: Pre-admission Visit
You are welcome to visit the facility before your birth. Your midwife can arrange a visit at a time that suits you.
Step three: When you go into labour
When labour begins, contact your midwife. They will coordinate with the birthing centre to prepare for your arrival.
Step four: Birth
You will labor and give birth in your own private suite - each room includes a bath suitable for water births.
Step five: Post-birth Care
Our staff work alongside your midwife to provide high-quality postnatal care. Māmā may stay for up to two nights with support partners welcome at your request. You will receive guidance on breastfeeding and newborn care to support recovery before heading home.
Step six: Ongoing Support
Our goal is for every māmā to return home feeling confident and prepared to care for their pēpī. If you need additional support after leaving, our team can provide advice and connect you with one of our wrap-around services for ongoing care.
