After the Birth

After the Birth

Our staff work alongside your midwife (LMC) to support your recovery and those first days with your pēpi. Māmā may stay for up to two nights, with support partners encouraged to remain. You will receive guidance on breastfeeding, newborn care, and recovery, along with nourishing meals to help you regain strength before heading home.

Your midwife (LMC) will continue caring for you and your pēpi once you return home - providing regular checks, breastfeeding support and guidance for up to six weeks after birth. They will make sure you and your baby are doing well, and can connect you with extra community or whānau based support if needed.

In this section you can explore Turuki Health Care’s wrap-around whānau wellbeing services which support māmā, pēpi, and tamariki aged 0–5 as you settle in at home.

Visiting hours
To help new mums get the rest they need, visiting hours are from 2pm to 8pm.
