Preparing for Birth
Antenatal Classes & Education Sessions
As part of getting ready for your baby’s arrival, you can take part in antenatal classes and breastfeeding education through Turuki Health Care.
B4Baby is a breastfeeding education and support service for mothers in South Auckland. With over 20 years of experience, the team includes breastfeeding advocates and a lactation consultant who guide mothers through their feeding journey.
Antenatal education sessions cover everything from the benefits of breastfeeding and recognising hunger cues, to safe expressing, milk storage, and managing common challenges such as engorgement or latch issues. Sessions also include practical demonstrations, helping mothers feel informed and confident before baby arrives.
Hapū Wānanga offers one-day antenatal education classes that focus on natural, whānau-centred birthing and early parenting. This programme empowers women and their whānau with knowledge and confidence for labour, birth, and the early weeks at home. Experienced midwives facilitate each session, creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for learning and connection.
